Data center removal, explained

Clearing a data hall is three jobs at once: getting the equipment out while what stays live is left untouched, making sure no data leaves unaccounted for, and recovering whatever value is left.

We run all three: every asset is tagged and serialized on the way out, drives are destroyed on site or moved by secure transport, and resellable gear then goes straight to buyback.

What data center removal includes

One crew handles the teardown and the paperwork, as well as where the hardware goes next.

Full or partial decommissions

Whether it is one cage, one hall or the whole facility, we scope it.

Removal and cleanup

Extraction, cable and pathway clearing and palletization, as well as site restoration.

Inventory and serialization

Every asset tagged and documented before it leaves the floor.

Secure data handling

On-site destruction or secure transport, so no data leaves unaccounted for.

Buyback or recycling

Equipment routed to value recovery when it can resell, or to certified recycling.

Reconciliation report

A record of what left the site, as well as where it went.

How data center removal works

  1. 1Step 01

    Site assessment

We walk the space before work starts and scope what is coming out.

  2. 2Step 02

    Plan and schedule

Work is then booked around your maintenance windows.

  3. 3Step 03

    Remove and pack

Extraction, palletization and transport, fully tracked while equipment moves.

  4. 4Step 04

    Finally, reconcile and report

You get the full record, as well as any buyback value.

Data center removal questions

Still unsure? Call us, and a person picks up instead of a phone tree.

Can you remove just part of a data center?

Yes, anything from a single cabinet to a full facility, including isolated zones and colocation cages.

Will the removal disrupt our live systems?

We work within your maintenance windows and can split the job into phases when needed.

Can drives be destroyed on site?

Yes, on-site destruction is available, or drives move by secure transport instead.

What happens to the equipment?

Resellable hardware goes through our buyback program, while the rest is recycled through R2v3 certified channels.

What documentation do we get?

Serialized tracking for every asset, as well as a reconciliation report at close-out.
